Besides the drastic changes in our climate that are stressing the coral, the chemicals like Zinc Oxide that protect our skin from the sun's rays actually are a main cause of coral bleaching.
There are many alternatives coming out on the market to give consumers the opportunity to make better choices when having fun in the sun. This infographic gives a rundown on how SPF bleaches coral and gives solutions to keep you safe without hurting the ocean.
For this project, I was given the task to create an infographic that uses the rule of thirds and dynamic symmetry to guide its composition.

This infographic explains why it's important to be mindful of your SPF choice and how to pick a friendlier one. Using the rule of thirds and dynamic symmetry, I created an infographic that educates on the what, why and how's of the correlation between chemical sunscreens and coral reef bleaching.
The infographic shown here uses a bright illustrative style that uses a grid to guide the viewer through the information. It starts by showing the coral deep into the ocean and leads to the shore. This is to illustrate the human impact on coral reefs and the distance sunscreen chemicals really go in the ocean.
